find out moreWith 11 years as a card-carrying member with CSU52 under their belt, Patrick has worked through multiple positions of increasing responsibility with Edmonton Public Library and is currently a Library Assistant and Shop Steward at the Capilano branch. Patrick is also on EPL’s bargaining team, advocating for members directly to the employer.
Even though they have completed both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, Patrick is a sucker for academic punishment and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Human Resources and Labour Relations degree at Athabasca University. Patrick hopes to direct their studies to become an even more effective union leader and empower other members to be successful shop stewards in their workplaces.
When they are not rallying for workplace improvements, Patrick can be found in the wild, strolling about and catching Pokemon in the beautiful neighbourhood of Oliver.
Being Chief Shop Steward means engaging in dialogue with Shop Stewards and planning training with the Member Engager & Union Organizer (Brandi Thorne) to find out where the gaps in training exist and what Shop Stewards want to learn more about.
The role of Chief Shop Steward should be held by a candidate who can help you improve your competencies and empower you to better support members.

While eligible voters for the election will only include Shop Steward members, all card-carrying CSU 52 members are welcome to attend this online Candidate Forum, where the candidates will answer questions moderated by SmartBallot.
Monday October 24 — Friday October 28 2022
The online election period will be held over a one week period and will be administered by SmartBallot. An email will be sent out to all Shop Stewards with a unique link to cast your vote.
